Based in Greater New York City, Craig M. Stram is an expert in the field of Financial Infrastructure Design and Implementation. He has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience over more than two decades in the field, and has added to his expertise through pursuing higher education in business and financial literacy. He is the CEO and owner of Practical Business Solutions, which provides financial infrastructure implementation and financial/accounting solutions to both large and small companies.
Craig’s skills and interests are not limited to the business world, however. He is fluent in Spanish, having travelled throughout Spanish-speaking countries such as Mexico, Colombia, and Venezuela, gaining not only mastery of the language, but an understanding of the cultures of these Latin American nations. This love for Latin American peoples has extended beyond touring their countries, though. He currently employs many Hispanic employees, and has both created and put in place a Spanish- and English-learning system throughout his companies to promote inclusiveness and communication both among his employees and with clients.
Craig is also skilled with computers. He is versed in computer programming, is a widely-recognized expert in Microsoft Excel, and is adept at Hyperion software products.
With all these skills, he has been able to nurture his own businesses, as well as provided his business clients with invaluable tools to improve their profitability and cash flow.
Business Experience
For 6 years, Craig was employed as Senior Financial Analyst at Independent Health Association, Inc. There, he had quite a few responsibilities, which includes preparing capital and operating budgets, underwriting the company’s revenue, and ensured compliance with the New York State Department of Finance regulations. He has also served as Chief Financial Advisor to many companies, such as IBM and ITT.
In the year 2000, though, Craig took a big step in another direction. He left Independent Health, and started his own company, Practical Business Solutions. He also acquired a regionally prominent dental laboratory in 2013, and has completely restructured it's business model and personnel, improving their efficiency. In his companies, he has worked to ensure his female staff members receive salaries on par with their male counterparts, and has even employed more female employees than male.
Craig is a believer in hard work and equity for all, and implements this in the way he runs his businesses. Even as he develops and expands his companies, he invests surplus revenue into social welfare programs and the economic empowerment of the less fortunate.
Education
Craig pursued a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting at Mercy College, having received a scholarship from the College itself, as well as from the Pope Foundation. Through hard work, he managed to remain on the Dean’s List every semester, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.98. Even as he excelled academically, though, he did not neglect co-curricular activities. He was a member of both the Alpha Chi and Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Societies, and even gave of his time to tutor more than 1,500 fellow students.
Later, he simultaneously pursued two Master’s degrees at Long Island University’s Westchester Campus: A Master of Science in Psychology, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance. He graduated with an impressive GPA of 3.975.
Education is tremendously important to him, and he has ensured that he been a shining light in his educational pursuits. However, he refuses to climb upwards and neglect the others around him. Among the causes that he has invested his time, effort, and resources into, education is far from the least, and he has no intention of stopping anytime soon.
